Taiwanese 'forced on China-bound plane' by Kenya police

'Assault rifles'
Taiwan's international ministry said Kenyan police force required 22 Taiwan individuals, who were caught on suspicion of fraudulence, to table a aircraft destined for China on Wednesday, despite protests from John Chen, Taiwan's agent to South Africa.
Another 15 Taiwanese, who was simply acquitted in the event, were coerced into boarding the aircraft also, the international ministry said.
The authorities "threw rip gas" and brandished "assault rifles" to induce them to the aircraft, Antonio CS Chen, the principle of the Western Asian and African Affairs portion of Taiwan's international ministry, informed reporters.
A spokesman for Kenya's interior ministry, Mwenda Njoka, advised Reuters news organization that the 37 people "originated from China and we got those to China", adding that Kenya got "an responsibility to ensure if people are here illegally these are taken back again to where they originated from".
When asked about the situation, Chinese overseas ministry spokesman Lu Kang advised reporters: "The one-China plan can be an important pre-condition for bilateral relationships with China and other countries."
