Some 22% of smart phone users use software that blocks advertising (ad blocker), a figure up 90% year on
year, according to a study released Tuesday.
Today they are 419 million smartphone owners to use an ad blocking, the study of PageFair company specializing in data analysis and methods of circumvention of ad blockers.
The study, conducted in partnership with the firm Data Priori, the proportion of blockers users is much higher in developing countries than in more developed countries.
In the Asia-Pacific region, 36% of smartphone owners use them.
According to latest figures, dated March 2016, 93% of smartphone owners who use a web browser to block advertising were located in the Asia-Pacific region.
This proportion is greater than the weight of the region in the population of smartphone users, or 55%.
Besides web browsers, blocking can be done through an application downloaded to the phone or via the operator, for some of them.
